Co-founder of Apple Finds Nokia Lumia 900 a very Good Friend!

The folks over at Android are not going to like this one  bit. It seems the Apple inc.’s co-founder prefers the Windows Phone to the Android devices.

Mr Steve Wozniack who, besides being the co-founder of the Cupertino-based technology company is also its founder inventor uses the Motorrola Razr beside the coveted Apple iPhone and was recently caught happily using a Nokia Lumia too.

His response was as straight as ever. He finds the Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 version called Mango run Nokia Lumia 900 a very pleasant phone handset to use. He remarked that the he finds the Windows Phone from the Finnish mobile phone veteran better looking than Android and also felt that its user interface is pretty good too. HTC One X battery update not to come on Three store

Samsung Galaxy S3 Finally Reaching the Markets

Samsung has set up a news coundown website which claims to reveal the most awaited next Galaxy series on Monday. According to the site, the next flagship device will reach the stores by May 3rd .

Samsung has announced the release of the Galaxy S3 most probably on Monday. It is ahead of its stated released of May 3rd which was earlier decided.

The Korean smartphone based company has launched the website featuring the clock and messages ticking “Coming soon. You can take the next step in…”

At 12PM UK time on Monday morning the clock will run out showcasing the exact time when the device will be released.

The website also came out with not so mystifying tweet by the company stating “Destination: tgeltaayehxnx.” . The message is simple and fast to understand meaning The Next Galaxy.

Samsung, lately has been very shy about the release of the its next high end Android smartphone. Many of the mobile enthusiasts expected the device to launch at the world renowned mobile event at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February.

The company however did not release the device at the event. There could be ,many reasons for the delay, perhaps to build iPhone like hysteria,in order to separate S3 from rest of the mobile devices or may be due to internal delays.

Already Amazon Germany has released pre orders for the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Apple Analyst Predicts an October 2012 Release for iPhone 5!

It has been exactly six months and a week or ten days or so since the official launch of the Apple iPhone 4S device. And already expectations are reaching sky high about the arrival of the next generation iPhone handset. As always, there is an over dose of speculation (some reliable and some not so) about the likely release month of the Apple iPhone 5 device.

A majority of mobile phone experts though agree on the name of the phone that it will be Apple iPhone 5. The other fact that they agree on is that whatever the situation may be, the sixth generation iPhone will surface in 2012 itself.

Adding what is undoubtedly a far more reliable prediction about the new iconic iPhone is Gene Munster who is an Apple analyst from Piper Jaffray. Munster has made his views clear on not only the likely release month of the new iPhone but also why he thinks so and he has also added some vital inputs on what he feels will be the enhancements that one can expect from the Apple iPhone 5.

According to him, Apple Inc will launch the iPhone 5 device only in October, 2012. He points out that the Qualcomm produced 28mn chip sets are in short supply and this is the cause for a slightly delayed release of the iPhone 5 gadget. He believes that Apple shifting loyalties to some other chip maker is very unlikely.

And Apple would want Qualcomm to give out its best if it is to produce a quality LTE version of the next iPhone.

Further, he is also of the opinion that the Cupertino-based company is likely to focus on the hardware aspect of the iPhone this time around.

Sony Launches Device Loaner Program for Testing Devices’ Compatibility with Applications!

It is not enough to have an Android running mobile phone device and be contend with the knowledge that it will be compatible with all the various applications. As many a times, Android applications do tend to get stuck up with one or the other device.

Sony has thought it fit to rectify this shortcoming by lending out its Xperia set of smartphones to developers in order to test them for their compatibility with the different applications. This move, does seem like a step in the right direction by Sony which is otherwise having a tough time in the mobile phone market place.

Sony obviously want as many of its popular smartphone handsets to be able to run as many applications as possible without the valued users facing any glitches. This is why it has decided to go ahead and give its select Xperia smartphone devices to developers so that they can test it and verify where they have become compatible enough for the users to run applications on them smoothly. The Japanese technology giant is doing this under programme that it has launched recently.

Under this programme that Sony calls Device Loaner Program, Sony is focusing on the independent and smaller developers who otherwise may not have the wherewithal to test devices for their compatibility with applications.

Even though Sony is concentrating on the American and the Canadian markets to begin with, other international developers also can apply though they will have to bear the freight and the handling costs.

To begin with, Sony is lending out the following few smartphones for testing to developers – Sony Xperia X10 A, Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, Sony Ericsson Liveview, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S etc.

Credit Suisse Estimates Steep Climb in Smartphone Sales by 2014!

Credit Suisse has predicted a big rise in the number of smartphone handsets sold in the next two years.

According to it, aided by the huge Chinese market for smartphone devices, the total number of smartphone handsets globally would cross the one billion mark by 2014. This stupendous rise for smartphone will also be helped by the increase in the demand as well as parallel availability of low priced smartphone devices.

The credit rating agency further elaborated that it is expecting the smartphones market to grow by 46 per cent and climb to a 687.9 million units this year itself and proceed to touch 1.05 billion units in 2014.

A senior official pointed out that his rating firm is of the view that the ever burgeoning Chinese market itself will account for a good 22 per cent of these level of mind numbing sales of smartphone handsets by the year 2015.

The brokerage firm also expects the success of personal computers and tablet devices to directly influence the sales performance of smartphones globally. And this is precisely why they are of the view that Apple phones will continue to rule the markets even for the next couple of years.

Riding on a far superior hardware, excellent distribution network and of course, software and services platform, Apple will surge ahead for the present at least.

Nokia, the Finnish mobile phone veteran also does well thanks to its brand image, carrier support and very attractive pricing. Nokia smartphone devices will grow exponentially in 2013 and by 12 per cent in the longer term.

Samsung will stay put at the number two spot. But HTC Motorola Mobility and Blackberry smartphones will find the going very touch in the next few years.
